On 31 March 2025, Fundacja Wspólnota Wielopokoleniowa from Poland organised an Online Youth Panel on Slow Fashion, bringing together 40 young participants interested in fashion, sustainability, and activism. The panel was part of an online youth dialogue series and created an open, inclusive space for discussion, learning, and collective reflection on the environmental and social impact of the fashion industry.
The session began with a welcome and introduction to the concept of slow fashion, followed by an exchange where participants shared personal experiences related to consumption, trends, and pressure within the fashion system. A key moment of the panel was the guest contribution by Magdalena Kęskiewicz, lecturer at Kraków Art School, who introduced an artistic and educational perspective on sustainable fashion and responsible textile production. Her input helped ground the discussion in both creative practice and critical reflection.
Participants then worked in breakout groups, focusing on identifying realistic actions that could help slow down the fashion industry. Rather than broad slogans, the groups were encouraged to formulate concrete calls to action, which were later presented and discussed in the plenary session. The panel concluded with a wrap-up and an invitation to continue engagement in future youth-led activities.
Overall, the panel enabled meaningful peer-to-peer exchange and strengthened participants’ understanding of slow fashion. Young people co-created practical proposals, built connections with like-minded peers, and reinforced their sense of agency and responsibility. The youth-led organisation and online format ensured accessibility and highlighted the bottom-up character of the initiative, encouraging continued involvement in sustainability-focused dialogue and action.
