The National Hackathon LARMO 2: “Banner for Earth”, organised by Fundacja Wspólnota Wielopokoleniowa, took place on 20 September 2025 in Zabrze, Silesia, as an open public event bringing together young people, youth workers, local authorities, media representatives, and the wider community. With approximately 300 visitors, the hackathon created an inclusive and participatory space to promote No Label values, ecological awareness, and shared responsibility for the planet through artivism and hands-on learning.
At the heart of the event was the collective co-creation of the “Banner for Earth”, an open artistic space where participants expressed environmental messages through creativity and collaboration. The hackathon featured partner-led educational zones and workshops delivered in cooperation with PreZero, the Municipal Botanical Garden, Wodociągi Zabrzańskie, Stowarzyszenie Otwarte Miasto, and the MasterPeace Poland Club. Activities included practical gardening workshops in the “Jar Garden,” glass upcycling sessions and education on waste segregation and EU textile waste legislation, textile upcycling and screen printing through the “Print Your City” initiative, and information stands focused on sustainable development and the No Label project.
The event actively engaged the local community, with 38 participants joining the Jar Garden workshops, around 40 taking part in Print Your City activities, and approximately 25 contributing directly to the creation of the Banner for Earth. Educational and artistic activities strengthened participants’ understanding of the circular economy, upcycling, and responsible resource use, while high attendance confirmed strong community interest in practical and creative ecological initiatives. The hackathon also increased the visibility of the No Label project and fostered cross-sector cooperation, while reinforcing local identity through the creative use of city symbols and collaborative action in public space.
