On 15 October 2025, GrowUnited e.V. organised an online youth panel dialogue titled Global Doughnut Day, bringing together around 30 young people from different project partner countries to explore Doughnut Economics and its relevance for education and sustainable fashion. The session took place online via Zoom and created an open, inclusive space for youth-led discussion and exchange.
The panel opened with a welcome introducing Global Doughnut Day and the connection between the Doughnut framework and the No Label initiative, followed by a short presentation of ongoing activities and goals. Guest speakers from the Doughnut Economics Action Lab (DEAL) shared insights into how Doughnut Economics can be applied in educational contexts, sparking interest and reflection among participants. Young people were then invited to share personal experiences, ask questions, and take part in a facilitated group discussion guided by prompts on how the Doughnut model can support more just, regenerative, and inclusive education systems, including its links to sustainable fashion and consumption.
Throughout the dialogue, participants actively exchanged ideas and reflected on how education can better integrate social justice, ecological limits, and real-life sustainability challenges. The discussion generated concrete ideas for using the Doughnut framework as a learning and reflection tool in both formal and non-formal education. Overall, the panel strengthened young people’s sense of agency, encouraged critical thinking, and fostered new peer connections around education, sustainability, and systemic change, while contributing valuable insights for future activities.
