From Ideas to Impact: Turning Artivism into Sustainable Fashion

As a first step in the creative journey, each partner country organized a local artivism workshop in collaboration with local artists. These workshops created a dynamic space where Movers and Shakers could explore the intersection of art, activism, and sustainability. Through hands-on creative sessions, participants developed powerful slogan ideas and visual concepts, resulting in a wide and diverse range of design proposals.

To ensure that the final designs truly reflected the collective voice of the group, each partner facilitated a democratic voting process. Participants selected their top three designs, highlighting the ideas that resonated most strongly with their local communities. The chosen designs were then shared with GrowUnited, who compiled the final selection, refined the visuals, and prepared them for high-quality production.

A key collaborator in this process was WoMan Force, a Germany-based sustainable clothing brand known for challenging gender norms through bold and meaningful design. Their expertise in local, eco-friendly printing in Frankfurt played an essential role in guaranteeing both the reliability and sustainability of the production process. With their guidance, Clopen, a local sustainable printing house, was selected to handle the final printing.

For the base garments, Clopen sourced blank hoodies from Stanley/Stella, a brand widely recognized for its high production standards and commitment to sustainable cotton. This careful selection of partners and materials ensured that the final products not only carried strong social messages, but also aligned with the project’s values of ethical production and environmental responsibility.

Together, this collaborative process transformed creative ideas into tangible, sustainable fashion pieces—demonstrating how artivism can inspire change both in message and in practice.
