The Style Hackathon in Rotterdam, organised by MasterPeace the Netherlands as a public event on 25 May 2025, brought together young people, teachers, local communities, partners, and visitors of the Vintage aan de Maas market to explore sustainable fashion through creativity and hands-on participation. The activity was implemented in collaboration with Albeda Fashion students, Movers & Shakers, and local partners, creating an open and accessible space for learning, exchange, and action.
Throughout the day, visitors were invited to actively engage in conscious fashion practices by donating clothing items or taking part in a clothing swap at the MasterPeace No Label stand. The hackathon combined workshops, creative activities, a catwalk show titled “Runway to Peace”, and a live concert, transforming sustainability into a visible and inspiring public experience. A highlight of the day was the co-creation of a large sustainable quilt made from repurposed fabrics together with Albeda Fashion students. Quilts created by other No Label partner countries were later combined during the Hackathon in North Macedonia, forming one collective transnational artwork.
In parallel, the Movers & Shakers hoodies—designed as unique wearable artworks—were showcased on the catwalk, energising the audience and highlighting youth creativity and alternative fashion narratives. The Style Hackathon successfully connected sustainability, creativity, and cultural exchange, encouraging participants to rethink fashion consumption and demonstrating practical, circular solutions through collective action.
