The Seven Deadly Sins poses the question: What is our understanding of sin and what form does it take?
The reader is introduced to the seven deadly sins, the perception of sin the various world religions have, how sin occurs in everyday life, in the news media, and in its many interpretations in visual imagery, photography and sculpture. The book examines how the world of advertising has been inspired by the seven deadly sins, where sin is disguised in fiction and how to categorise personality types based on the seven deadly sins.
In the course of the book the reader is guided in producing their own knowledge about the subject of sin through various types of task.
The book includes tasks such as reflection, analysis, working with quotations, producing comparisons, producing visual reports, internet research, writing comments, taking pictures and producing videos.
The Seven Deadly Sins is designed to be used at several levels of English, Religious Studies and Psychology classes in secondary schools (grades 6 – 10 in USA), upper secondary or high school, as well as further education colleges, adult education centres, language schools, social and health care training or multidisciplinary courses.
